DSLR Reconfigured

As a photographer, and perpetually dissatisfied consumer, I spend quite a bit of time irritated about many of the tools I use on a daily basis.  For example, the form factor of an SLR hasn’t changed in decades.  When you spend the entire day with your nose pressed against the screen of a camera, you actually the cartilage arch like a plant leaning toward the sun.

The form factor above eliminates the problem of pressing your face against the back of a camera.  This concept might be further improved by making a square sensor that optically compresses the horizontal or vertical plane – on the fly.  Or, the images can be cropped in post production.  My point?  I’d like to see the camera manufacturers take a chance with some new form factors.

And yes, this is my design.  I simply reconfigured a 5D in Photoshop.
