About 8 years ago I noticed the odd practice of making room for cream. It’s like dumping a quarter of your sandwich in the garbage because you like to add mayo. However, like most people I never considered it to be a big problem; just a bit wasteful (and stupid). Then I ran the numbers.

Turns out the uniquely-American practice of making room for cream wastes billions of gallons of water annually. Whether you drink coffee, or not, you should know that it take 2500 gallons of water to produce one pound of coffee.

So I did what any mad inventor with the desire to make a difference would do: eliminate the problem with a simple solution, and fund organizations tasked with providing fresh water to the billion people without.

I hope you take a few minutes to learn why my coffee cup can significantly reduce the waste generated by one of the largest industries on earth.

Every aspect of this project was done without raising a cent of capital, but I’m definitely going to need some help as I begin the next phase of this project (San Francisco Beta Campaign), which is schedule to begin in April. I’m looking for contributions, sponsorships, and a little grassroots assistance. Contact me if you love coffee, but hate waste.
