Not sure why I feel the need to defend UPrinting, especially to go through the trouble of registering with this site to do so. BUT, I have used Uprinting several times for personal, business and client marketing -- all custom designs. I can think of one occasion where the pdf proof came back incorrect. And one occasion where I was due a free canvas print from a previous order, but the site didn't recognize that. However, on both occasions and every other transaction 1) the customer service department (via chat or phone) was EXTREMELY helpful and prompt, 2) the finished product was of high quality, and 3) shipping time was as stated. I'm in the advertising biz, so I'm looking for quality. Not to discredit your individual negative experiences, but based on my multiple ones, I have to say Uprinting has exceeded my expectations in customer service, product quality, price and easy of use...even on the free-be canvas.

A misunderstanding?

My torturous story...

I ordered some business cards looking for a good price, unfortunately not really thinking of company customer service company history. Duh, this is the information age. I should have Googled them! First of all, my issue might not be as extreme as the other posts I've read, but they are all eerily similar. I ordered 1000 biz cards on 4/20/10 and still have not recieved them. When I ordered them I was sure that I indicated that I wanted them shipped. But I can't clearly remember. Well, anyhow, I'm waiting and waiting for my order. The excitement is killing me, but they NEVER come!? So I call, but I don't have the job number on hand, she seems annoyed with me for that, however, she continues to work with me and asks for my email address to find my order. After waiting on hold, she says that I basically don't exist as a customer who has ever ordered anything from them...???? So we hang up and I go on my iphone and SIGN IN to my account(lol) with the same email I gave her! Wah-lah, there is my order, saying it's ready for pickup in Santa Monica! Now I'm confused and little angry. I call back and explain the same story to another lady and give my "job" number and there is my order. She says its ready for pickup, I say I wanted it shipped and how come it wasn't? She claimed I didn't fill out the form the right way. Which again I said I don't remember what I clicked, but I was kid of sure I did it right. Two things I am sure of are: 1. I wasn't high when I ordered it and 2. I never "pickup" online orders 400 miles from my house. Whatever though, moving on. I ask the lady why the other lady couldn't find me in the system (because that was annoying), she said she didn't know and didn't seem to care either for the time it wasted. So after all this I state that I want it shipped still. She charges my card for the shipping amount. I ask why I wasn't sent a confirm email (which I wasn't)? She claimed they did. Whatever. I ask if there is a complaint line or someone I can talk to because I wasn't satisfied with customer service or the shipping vs pickup situation. She says, "No, not really, there is no one you can complain too. So is there anything else I can help you with besides this issue?" Ha aha haha hahahahahahahahah. (That's exactly what I did. I laughed into the phone as I was dumbfounded by her response. After the laugh, I politely answered, "No. That will be all and thank you so very much." She says it will be about three days ground shipping. Whatever. Cool. I thought it was over.

Wrong! I paid for shipping on 4/29/10 and still have not recieved the business cards. So I called again tonight. I got another emotionless, unapologetic lady on the phone. I say, "I'd like to get the UPS tracking number to see where my package is." (The invoice of my payment for the shipping I paid for was emailed, but it had the origianl order date on it, not the date I paid the shipping on! Also, there was NO TRACKING NUMBER!) She says she doesn't have the number. Why you might ask? BECAUSE THE PACKAGE IS STILL SITTING THERE WAITING FOR PICKUP!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahahahahahahaha. As I'm typing this, I feel like breaking my keyboard in half over my knee and I laugh at the situation to keep from going insane. So I explain that I paid for shipping, what was the package still doing there? I get nothing from her. She says she's going to "make a reference in my file" and send it to the manager along with an email to me with the reference number. I say that thats fine and good, but while we're waiting, why not just ship the order? She says shipping dept. is closed. Of course, of course, I forgot, my apologies. ;) She did email me just a minute ago as she said she would and said that a manager would reach me when a resolution has been met. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!???? A resoultion!? That sounds like its going to take a while. I picture the manager and the other workers all standing around my box of cards saying, "Well guys, how are we going to resove this one?" I know, it's a real head scratcher. I've got an idea, how about SHIPPING MY ORDER!!! Wow, (here come the insults) I think zombies are taking the phone calls and monkeys are running the store.
I might not be being completely fair to them, after all, I haven't seen the work yet, which could be really great. Should I have waited to post this and wait and see for when I get my order, so I don't smear there good name? Well, if I hadn't been treated like a sub -human species on the phone (zombies) and if someone shipping the outgoing orders had a clue what they were doing (monkeys), then I wouldn't be spending my precious time writing this and I'd be catching up with my shows on my DVR! I'm not a complainer and I'm a very fair, but when you ignore me and never say sorry, then I get real pissed. It's funny, they show up first on Google, them and Vistaprint which is almost equally as scandellous. I will take the lumps and come out stronger and educated from this experience. Next time I'll use my brains and guard my hard earned money by going with a more reputable company with low prices taking second place. I'd rther pay a little more and get my stuff on time and looking good, than, well, you know. I hope you enjoyed my rant and have learned something, I did. This issue is not over yet, and when I get my cards (I'm not holding my breath), I'll post back with an update. Thanks for your time. -Clay Rock www.clayrock.net

Uprinting claims to have a 4-day turnaround. I ordered March 15 and still haven't received as of May 4th.

I gave up and canceled my order--it was easy to do, but you had to do it over the phone (no web or email cancellations), and they charged $15 for canceling.

I designed the business card on their website--easy to do. To bad they don't deliver!

Avoid at all costs!
